Tips For Use

Sticky Ass Glue is known to glue gurus as a moisture cure adhesive. To regular folks, a moisture cure adhesive is basically glue that must be exposed to moisture to cure (meaning to solidify, i.e., work!)

Bonding Porous Substances:
On porous substrates like wood, foam, cardboard, concrete, bricks, and other hole-y materials, Sticky Ass Glue will cure in less than 24 hours (under normal circumstances, of course.) That’s because these substrates tend to either carry a lot of moisture, or they allow the moisture in the surrounding environment to affect the curing time.

If you are looking to speed up the process, curing time can be accelerated by adding a bit of water via misting with a sprayer, or wiping with a damp cloth prior to bonding.

Using Nonporous/Smooth Materials:
On smooth nonporous substrates such as metals, plastics, glass and other non hole-y materials, moisture cure adhesives take longer than 24 hours to fully cure. In fact, depending on the size of the surfaces to be bonded, glue can remain uncured for years. Consider you’re bonding two large sheets of metal. The first area to cure will be the perimeter (because of exposure to moisture from the environment.) But in the middle, the glue may never cure due to a lack of moisture!

Remember to Etch
To avoid a potentially un-sticky situation, consider etching (sanding or scratching) the surface of the materials to be bonded before applying Sticky Ass Glue. This will allow for moisture from the environment to work its magic. It’s also a good idea to mist, or wipe one substrate with a damp cloth.

(Moderation is a virtue though, as too much moisture will dilute the strength of Sticky Ass Glue. Please don’t go drenching the materials with a power washer!)

Realize You Have an Ally
Clamping is your friend! Clamping for an extended period of time (24 hours +) will always produce optimum results.

One of Each: Porous/Nonporous
Bonding a porous substrate to a non porous substrate will take less than 24 hours. Consider these materials to be a match made in adhesion heaven. Their compositions offer the perfect blend of exposure to moisture.
